To continue its sparkling celebration of spring, Saint Leo opened the doors of Selby Auditorium on March 29th to students and faculty for something genuinely delightful – – the Tunes in Bloom Spring Concert.
On March 11, 2022, Saint Leo University’s Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority members hosted an event about Black girls caring for their natural hair. This event was a part of their 2022 Stigma Week.
Dr. John Joseph Jr. “Jack” McTague, 77, passed away without pain at his home in Dade City, FL, on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. McTague, an Albany, NY, native, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo and spent much of his career at Saint Leo University before retiring from a full-time position to a part-time position in 2020. His impact spread far beyond the classroom.
For those unfamiliar with the acronym, RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, the name of the process by which an adult prepares to become Catholic. RCIA is generally conducted through a parish church; however, when students began to show interest in joining Catholic Church, Saint Leo’s University Ministry saw an opportunity to step in.
On March 5, from 2-6 pm, Saint Leo University’s students, staff, and factually all gathered in scorching eight five-degree weather to attend the annual event of Spring Fling.
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) organizers provided students with refreshing lemonade, customizable ice cream, and tie-dye shirts at the event.
On March 5, 2022, over 100 students came together at Saint Leo University to pack over 40,000 meal packages to help aid victims of natural disasters from around the world.
Saint Leo University Ministry partnered with Cross Catholic Outreach to create this volunteer event.
Saint Leo University recently launched a new program called Mission-Driven Leader Series: Conversations on Purpose designed to engage our community in dialogue about leadership and excellence.
Saint Leo University Ministry and Cross Catholic Outreach are hosting a service day activity on March 5. All Saint Leo students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to register and attend this activity.
By Feb. 28, 2022, Saint Leo University required all students living on campus to complete mandatory sexual harassment training.
The training was designed to ensure that people feel comfortable speaking up if they are subjected to stalking, dating violence, or sexual harassment.
