On Oct. 26th, a special event was hosted by various organizations on campus to shed light on the experiences of the veterans in our community. These organizations include the Caribbean Student Association, the Department of Social Sciences, the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society, and the Office of Military Affairs.
Students had a night of fun at the Moonlight Madness 2023 event. Sports are one of the best social connectors, and basketball is traditionally a sport that unites diverse groups worldwide.
Students crane their necks to the sky, their eyes protected from the sun by secure solar viewing glasses, commonly called “eclipse glasses.” Students could see crescent-shaped shadows all over the ground.
Everyone was invited out to try different free food and beverage samples supplied to Dining Services by prospective food vendors. There were a wide variety of food samples, from savory to sweet.
Yee haw, Lions! Saint Leo University is always coming up with fun events for the students. This month, they chose to do Country night, and it did not disappoint.
On Oct. 4, the Saint Leo University Campus Activities Board (CAB) held the Sunset and Painting event on the Lakeside Patio near the bowl, which always has amazing sunsets. It was a perfect event to talk with new people while eating snacks, listening to music, and of course, painting!
With a different theme every year, the event continues to draw in new students and faculty annually. This year’s theme centered around what the Constitution says in terms of emergency powers and civil liberties.
To raise awareness, National Voter Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday, was established to celebrate our democracy and the right to vote.
After a long year of students requesting Saint Leo University officials to re-launch off-campus trips, their request has finally been approved! On September 16, the Campus Activities Board hosted its first off-campus trip of the year to The Krates in Wesley Chapel.
