On April 22, Center for Global Engagement hosted “International Student Gala,” the first of what is planned to be a yearly celebration of the international students who bring their unique cultures and perspectives to the university. The event was held in the Wellness Center.
The St. Leo History Center is just part of a larger plan to create a “Town Center” for the Town of St. Leo. The Center will open this summer, but a sneak peek was held for the community on April 18.
On April 18, the annual Florida Political Science Association (FPSA) Conference took place at Saint Leo University. Students and faculty from all over the state came to present their political research projects and network with like-minded people in their discipline.
When you first move into college, it comes with a long list of essentials you need in a dorm. That long list can add up to be expensive and difficult for college students and families to afford. International studies May 2026 graduate, Thalie Brossard chose to help with this problem in her senior year by starting a program to recycle dorm supplies on campus.
“People who rarely speak at public meetings stood up and found their voice. That doesn’t happen by accident,” said Saint Leo University president Dr. Jim Burkee. “It reflects how deeply this community cares about who they are and what they want to protect.”
Students gathered on campus on April 22 at 5:30 p.m. to watch the different moon phases and to look up at the stars. As the sun lingered in the evening, the Astronomy Club had a clever plan. Instead of wasting daylight waiting for the stars, they kicked off the night with a nostalgic cinematic journey.
Goals are never impossible to reach but take patience. Setting goals comes with challenges but ends with a reward that makes it all worth it.
