For many students adjusting to a new environment is a hard task but if there is one thing you can depend, it is the fact that Saint Leo University is dedicated to making sure that its students have an easy transition. The welcome back fair did just that, on Jan. 13, hosting their bi-annual welcome back fair on the veranda of the Student Activities Building. The event is held at the beginning of every semester to help new students adjust to the new college environment. The Office of New Student Orientation invited various organizations to campus to market themselves to students to give them a service to make their college experience a little more enjoyable.Man sitting next to booth and smiling at camera

Companies such as T-Mobile and AT&T were out in full force, to help students get cheap and reliable phone services. Restaurants such as Domino’s Pizza and Chic Fil-A to give students discounts on different meal services because as everyone know, being in college is a financial struggle in and of itself, this opportunity allowed for students to see that they can eat for cheap. Also invited, were banking institutions to help students set up bank accounts to manage their finances better, they had companies such as Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo.Students engaging with table.Man standing next to tabling booth.

Elliot Johns, Relationship Banker at Chase had this to say, “[I am] very grateful to be invited to Saint Leo’s welcome to campus events as it gives us a chance to say hello to the new students, our big theme at Chase is helping our customers to learn how to save and use their credit wisely. Our mission is helping families make the best financial decisions as we say you have to make the most out of your money.”

They say it’s the little things that matter, and these little acts can make a big difference in students lives as they adjust to college. It is clear the student body was appreciative of this, as numerous students came out to learn about the different opportunities being offered to them from the different organizations. If there is something that should be a recurrent event, it is definitely this welcome back fair as it shows that the University genuinely cares about making college less stressful as possible.Person sitting next to tabling booth.
