Valentine vibes trivia: Guess the love song

If you walked by the Student Activities Building (SAB) on Thursday, Feb.12, you probably heard a lot of laughter and fun music!

It was the Campus Activities Board’s (CAB) Love Song Trivia game, a special event created forLeo Love Week.

Since it was outside, it made it more exciting, and many students would stop by to guess the song and get a bag of candy.

Trinity Palacious, the Director of Cultural Enrichment & Artistic Expression of CAB, hosted this event.

Music is something everyone understands, so this was a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The game was very simple, making it easy for anyone to participate. Students only needed to walk up to the table, show their student ID, and spin the colorful wheel.

“As a student with a busy schedule, I enjoy short, quick events because I can interact with students and get more information about upcoming events.” Said Stevenson Michel, a senior majoring in Biomedical Health Sciences.

Each section of the wheel had a different music genre: Pop, R&B, Rock, Country, and more. After spinning, students had to guess the genre or the singer of a randomly chosen love song.

Some students answered quickly and confidently, while others laughed and tried to remember if the song was Pop or R&B!

The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. Even students who were not music experts felt comfortable joining the game. Friends cheered for their friends, tried to help them get the correct answers, and laughed at silly mistakes.

Sometimes a student would guess the wrong song’s name, and Palacious would give them another chance to spin the wheel for fun. At the end, she would give them a bag of candy filledwith chocolates.

Palacious played music in the background until a student showed up for the event to “Guess the love song.” The playlist kept the event lively, mixing slow love songs with upbeat rock love songs. Every spin felt like a surprise, and every guess brought new excitement. For many students, this event was a nice break from homework and classes, a moment to relax, enjoy music, and spend time with the campus community.

Love Song Trivia showed once again why CAB events are so popular at Saint Leo. They are simple, welcoming, and students love simple events. This event helped set the perfect mood for a week focused on connection, joy, and celebrating the small moments that bring students together.
