Outside of the Student Activities Building (SAB), the Loggia smelled like fresh flowers and fruit. Saint Leo University students gathered for the “Scent and Sip” event, where everyone could relax, sip lemonade, and design their own perfume. The Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted, in collaboration with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., RA Deja, and RA Whitney, the event, which offered a refreshing break from busy mid‑semester schedules.
“Partnering with other organizations allows CAB to expand student engagement and create more dynamic programming across campus,” said Neveah Grant, a junior majoring in Business Management.
This event invited students to explore the world of fragrance in a fun and easy way. There were two tables filled with small bottles of essential oils, each filled with different scents such as floral, fruity, fresh, and bold. They had a wide variety of fragrances based on what people prefer.

Students had the opportunity to test different combinations, mix their favorites, and create a custom perfume that matched their personality. For many students, it was their first time learning how scents blend together, and the hands‑on experience made the process exciting.
It was a calm and welcoming day with music playing in the background. Sigma Gamma Rho served lemonade and bags of candy to students throughout the afternoon, giving them a chance to sip something sweet while they experimented with their fragrance blends.
Creativity and social connection made the event feel like a small escape from the usual campus routine.

The “Scent and Sip” event highlights Saint Leo’s commitment to offering activities that help students’ well‑being. Giving students a space to slow down, be creative, and enjoy time with others is what the event was all about. CAB continues to build a campus culture that values connection and self-expression.
“Working with organizations such as Greek life, cultural clubs, and international groups helps ensure that programming reflects the diversity of the campus community. Additionally, joint events increase visibility for student organizations and encourage greater participation by reaching a broader audience of students,” added Grant.
For many students who attended, the best part of the event wasn’t just the perfume they took home; it was the memory of a peaceful day spent laughing, mixing scents, making friends, and feeling a part of the Saint Leo community.
