A perfect Valentine’s Day event took place on Feb. 13 outside the Student Activities building. The Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted an event where you could make your own chocolate lollipop. It was creative, fun, and wonderful for this season.

Students had a choice of either making a chocolate-covered Oreo or a chocolate-covered lollipop. They had multiple shapes for what you wanted to put your melted chocolate in, such as bears, flowers, hearts, lions, alligators, and more! There were so many colors of chocolate you could choose from. Such as pink, red, green, blue, and yellow!

The process starts by pouring your chocolate into your chosen plastic mold. You put the chocolate on the very bottom layer of the mold, which will be the front of the lollipop with your design on it. Once you are done, you can choose dark or white chocolate to fill the rest of your mold. It then takes 20 minutes to be ready. The chocolate lollipops have to sit on dry ice tofreeze. The process was unique and very interesting to watch.

The event was a great way to bring students together, especially if they did not have anything to do or anyone to celebrate Valentine’s Day with. It was also very fun to make your own little treat to give to someone else or eat yourself. The chocolate lollipops were adorable and delicious.

The event was relaxing as well. Students got to listen to music with their headphones on, take a break from homework, and catch up with their friends. It was delightful to sit outside, enjoy the weather, and make a fun craft you can eat!

Manuela Henao Coca, the admissions recruiter at Saint Leo University, said, “My favorite part was waiting for the chocolate to harden because it gave me the opportunity to talk and get to know others.”

This CAB event was an incredible way to meet new people, especially if you are a freshman andwant to make new friends. All CAB events are great for meeting new friends who share yourinterests.

Overall, this chocolate lollipop event was a hit! So many students and faculty loved it! This was the exact event needed during Leo Love Week, a sweet treat surrounded by a sweet community.
