Thanksgiving is upon us, and it is a time of celebration. It is a moment to reunite with family and friends and be reminded of all the little (or big) things that we are grateful for. If you are an international student who cannot go home during these days, or you are just staying on campus, here are a list of activities, times, and places to keep you busy during this off-time.

  • SeaWorld Trip: The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is inviting all undergraduate students to join them for a trip to SeaWorld. This trip will take place Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the latest. During this trip, you will have the opportunity to enjoy attractions such as Infinity Falls or even Krakenif you are a fan of adrenaline. It will be a perfect time to enjoy with friends, make new ones, and take a break from school assignments. More information will be given on the CAB Instagram page @Saintleocab.
  • Jazz Under The Starz: Are you a jazz connoisseur? Or a jazz fan? If the answer is yes, then this event will be perfect for you. It offers the opportunity to listen to talented jazz musicians in a very eco-friendly environment for a lesser price of $10. This event takes place every third Saturday of the month. To enhance your soul and listen to this musical genre, head to Avalon Park in Wesley Chapel on Nov. 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Live Music Night: Not a jazz enthusiast but still a music fan? This event is right for you. Head to the Top Shelf Sports Lounge in Wesley Chapel on Friday, November 26th, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. for a blast. This event features local talented and gifted artists. They will even serve homemade entrees and cold brews. You will be eating good food while listening to good music.
  • Small Business Saturday Unity Festival: Small businesses produce wonderful products and service, but most of the time, they lack exposure. This festival allows you to support and help small businesses. It also gives them exposure and a chance for people to appreciate what they do. This festival gives you plenty of choices from apparel to jewelry, face painting, and much more. Join more than 150 small businesses on Saturday, November 27th, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 1924 E Comanche Ave in Tampa. Tickets can be bought at www.eventbrite.com and also at the gates of the festival.
  • Sunday Brunch Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club: Are you a golf enthusiast? Are you looking to play in one of North Florida’s most praised golf courses? Lake Jovita offers a semi-private facility with top-notch features and fine dining. During this brunch, you will have the opportunity to test your golfing skills and converse with golf enthusiasts just like you. This golf exhibition will take place at Lake Jovita in Wesley Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Fresh Market at Wiregrass: Are you a health-conscious individual about your nutrition? Do you prefer eat locally grown products? Or do you just want to take a break from grocery in Walmart? This event is made for you. Every first and third Saturday of each month, a fresh market is held at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel. Local farmers converge in the same spot guaranteeing freshness, authenticity, and juiciness in their products. Join more than 1000 people and more than 100 vendors in shopping local and eco-friendly products. It will take place Nov. 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2p.m.

We hope that this list of events will help you choose activities during this Thanksgiving break. We wish you a very pleasant and peaceful Thanksgiving.
