There have been a lot of mass murders within the recent years; humans are becoming more violent over time. People keep carrying out mass shootings, injuring and harming many people.

These murders are premeditated, either they are a result of anger leading to the action immediately, or it is the result of an incident that previously occurred in the active shooter’s life; these have been happening forever. However, in recent years, mass murders have increased dramatically

On Feb. 14, 2018, a very horrific event took place in which a former student released gunfire within Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. There were at least 17 adults and children that were killed at this time; the young 19-year-old has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder. This incident is only one of thousands of pieces of evidence that humans are the true problem in the world.

Similarly, on Nov. 5, 2017, 25 people and an unborn child were killed by an active shooter in a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. The gunman was found dead after law enforcement officers took part in a brief chase.

Then of course, on Oct. 10, 2017, an active shooter sprayed gunfire on a crowd of approximately 22,000 concert-goers in Las Vegas, Nevada. The active shooter shot from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and killed 58 individuals and injured approximately 500 people.

The law enforcement officers at the scene stated that the gunshots lasted for 10-15 minutes. When they finally found his hotel room, the shooter was dead—it has been concluded that it was a suicide. This shooter did this act purely for chaos it seems.

On Nov. 7, 2017, The New York Times stated that the increase in crime in The United States is because of the increase of guns that are being bought and sold within the country. It can be further stated that the American population makes up 42 percent of the world’s gun use.

On Jan. 5, 2016, BBC News claimed President Barack Obama would take actions to increase the background check of gun buyers. There were approximately 272 mass shootings in The United States of America, killing 475 people and wounding 1,780, according to the mass shooting tracker.

Over the years, mass murders and other crimes in The United States have increased immensely. In the 21st century, violent murders have increased, and it is no stretch to say it is because of humans’ actions that these crimes are happening and increasing.
