With applications for the 2013-2014 year going live on Monday, Feb. 1, interested students are polishing up their resumes and preparing for the first interviews.

Winter Formal in Wonderland

This year Saint Leo University held its annual Winter Formal dance on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Hilton Hotel in Tampa. This year’s theme was Alice in Wonderland. The dance featured oversized teacups as centerpieces, the Cheshire Cat’s mischievous smile on the wall, and wonderful colors all around the room. As most campus activities functions begin, the students were picked up in coach buses at Campus Safety and shuttled to the destination.

With final exams coming up in the next few weeks, students need to start studying for all of their classes. Finals place a huge amount of pressure on students, and if you wait until the last minute, you will not be nearly as successful as if you had started early.

History Of Phi Alpha Theta and Join in Of Saint Leo University

Phi Alpha Theta (PAT), an American Honor Society, was established in 1921 at the University of Arkansas by Professor Nels Cleven. This is an attractive group history. From the outset to now, PAT has been spread into many famous universities with 350,000 members. Saint Leo University has been a member of PAT since 2003, and there are about 20 professors and students participating in PAT.

The weekend of Oct. 19 -21, Saint Leo University held its Annual Fall family Festival. Presented by the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and Student Services, the weekend was filled with numerous activities available to students, staff, and families alike; a weekend all participants will not soon forget.

Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage took over Selby Auditorium Oct. 26 -27. The performance was put together by the dramaturgy professor, Dave McGinnis, and included performances by students and admissions faculty member, Brook McGinnis.

Lions’ Lair Is the New Way To Go

Saint Leo University offers a wide variety of foods in its cafeteria through a system of stations designated to separate specialties. With the growing number of students, faculty, and staff on campus, some cannot find the time in their busy schedules to sit in line to get in the cafeteria. Some students are now seeing that the Lions’ Lair is a better option to go to in terms of food.
