It is amazing how someone can fall in love with the person he or she never even considered. This is the case of Ingrid Medina and Kevin Urbina who have been dating for more than a year. Neither thought that their friendship would turn into a beautiful and strong relationship.

HOW THEY MET

Medina met Urbina met during “Decision Day” hosted by the University for upcoming freshmen students.

“My best friend and I wanted to make friends, and then we saw him and decided to talk to him,” said Medina.

After they were introduced, Medina thought Urbina was going to sit with them during the event. It did not happen. Urbina went to sit in the back of the auditorium.

“They just asked for my name and wanted me to sit with them,” said Urbina.

WAS IT DESTINY?

During lunch, Medina and her best friend went to meet up with her parents. She saw that her parents were talking to some other parents. Surprisingly, those we Urbina’s parents.

“So they met at the same time we met without anyone knowing,” said Urbina.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

As important as first impressions are, they are not always accurate. For example, Urbina had a poor first impression of Medina.

“This girl was so cocky! Honestly, I did not like her because she thought so much of herself. Like when I met her, she said, ‘we are from Washington, D.C.’ I’m like [thinking]: so what?” said Urbina.

His view of her became more positive as he got to know her better.

Medina had a very different first impression of Urbina.

“I thought he was cute, that’s why we talked to him, seriously, I was like Clara, best friend, let’s talk to that kid, he is cute and Hispanic too.” said Medina.

BEST MEMORIES

At first these lovebirds were just friends, but every moment they spent together fueled the development of a beautiful relationship. As a Bachata dancer, Urbina loves his memories of dancing with his girlfriend.

“When we are dancing, there is a lot of excitement. It’s fun!” said Urbina.

Medina’s favorite memory was when she took him back to Washington D.C. and  they went ice-skating.

“It was his first time,” said Medina.

“I crashed into her!” said Urbina.

WHAT HOLDS THE GREATEST VALUE IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP?

As their relationship grows, Urbina values the company he has with his girlfriend. This couple has a fun and exciting relationship. They are best friends who tell each other everything, trust one another and create unforgettable memories.

“It’s pretty much one soul in two bodies. Like if I need something, she will know what I want. And without even asking, she will already have it,” said Urbina.

On the other hand, Medina likes how Urbina keeps her on task. She likes how he helps her make decisions so that she can make the right choices.

“If I’m doing something childish and I don’t know that it’s bad for me, he knows that it’s bad for me,” said Medina.

In this relationship, Urbina really likes how Medina is very patient because not so many people are patient with him.

“She knows how to handle me, she understands everything about me,” said Urbina.
