From Sept 17 to Sept 24, 2022, the Dade City Center for the Arts hosted their annual Art Walk, which featured 22 local businesses and artists presenting their work to the community. The walk’s main objective was to educate people on the artistic environment, local history, and personalities that dwell in Dade City.
On September 8, almost a week before I left for my program abroad, I learned that Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom had passed away. The day after the queen’s passing, my host university reached out to all of the students informing us of how this event would affect our first few days on campus.
A local Tampa band, Rohna, released their first EP, “Wander With You”, on Aug. 17, 2022. The band is composed of four members who met in high school: Nick Rovello, Luca Canalungo, Andres Hernandez, and Austin Burdi.

September marks the start of National Literacy Month and Library Card Sign-Up Month. This is a nationally recognized campaign to bring awareness to the importance of reading and library resources. Going to libraries as well as reading allows children, teens, and adults to develop crucial skills they can carry with them throughout their life.
The month of September is all about self-improvement, and this gives us time to sit back and reflect on what we could improve about ourselves. Self-improvement looks different for everyone, but it is important to think about it so we can continue our growth as individuals.
As soon as the clock strikes midnight on September 1, summer passes by, and fall is in season. Out with the beach towels and sunscreen and in with the crisp air and changing of the leaves. Pumpkin spice lattes, hot, of course, and dark academia novels are here for the takeover.
Sept 15 marks the start of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The observation of this month in America serves the purpose of “celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central, and South America,” according to hispanicheritagemonth.gov.
I am a student who is successfully living out my dream of studying abroad. You too can have an education outside of the United States with the help of those around you.
