The Beginning of Leo Love Week

Roses are red, violets are blue, nurseries are cool, but also building your own terrarium is too.

As the campus geared up for the infamous Valentine’s day week, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) kicked off Leo Love Week by bringing ‘Everything But The Mime’ to campus.

“This organization provides novelties, food vendors and many more. We choose this event to come first for many reasons. Firstly, this was a crowd pleaser last semester, and secondly this event is a calm way to show yourself a little love by giving yourself a beautiful terrarium,” said Maurqise Mcgill, a senior middle school education major and the CAB assistant for special events.

So, on February 11th, students lined up on the SAB green to make their own miniature landscapes. They were given all the tools needed to arrange their own display in the terrarium; glass containers, soil, rocks, moss, and the plants.

“I wanted to make my own terrarium because I took to the plants that were there. They remind me of plants back home, in Guayaquil, Ecuador,” explained Mario Sanchez, a junior studying marketing and economics.

After a few minutes of laboring work, many students left quite pleased with their new natural décor feature; for the terrariums themselves offer a fuss free fixture, to even the tiniest of dorm room spaces.
