BCS System Lucks Out Again

The BCS works itself out in the end. Entering week 11 of the college football season, there were three remaining unbeaten teams—Kansas State, Oregon, and Notre Dame—and all of the stars were aligning towards BCS chaos. Notre Dame, the beloved Notre Dame, was going to finish the season undefeated and be left out of the national championship. And the SEC, the best conference in college football, was not going to have a team in it, either.

Islanders Make the Move to Brooklyn 

The dark days still loom around the N.H.L. lockout, but good news came from the New York Islanders organization. Owner Charles Wang has agreed to bring the team to Brooklyn to play in the Barclays Center for the next 25 years, beginning in the 2015-16 season.

When one thinks of a Dream Catcher, one brings up an image of a round object made of a fake wood-like material, with a sting in the middle woven in an intricate pattern on the inside of the circle. The outside of the ring is adorned with feathers that drape down. But what is its purpose? Where did it come from? There is more to it than people realize.

History Of Phi Alpha Theta and Join in Of Saint Leo University

Phi Alpha Theta (PAT), an American Honor Society, was established in 1921 at the University of Arkansas by Professor Nels Cleven. This is an attractive group history. From the outset to now, PAT has been spread into many famous universities with 350,000 members. Saint Leo University has been a member of PAT since 2003, and there are about 20 professors and students participating in PAT.

Undeclared Fair

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the University held an Undeclared Fair for students to get a better perspective on majors and minors that they might want to pursue. For some students, this is their first time interacting with professors from different departments. Many incoming students come in with either an undeclared major or find that the major that they previously selected is no longer an interest for them. The undeclared fair is a good opportunity for students to see some options that will stimulate their drive to graduate with a degree in an area that captures their attention.

Sandy Drives Millions GAGA: Global Warming Attributed to Cause.

Monday, October 29, was another visit of another monster- Hurricane Sandy. The devastative impact of this storm through the 29th and the 30th was just unspeakable. Residents along with the coastal states of New Jersey, and Newark in New York, were probably, the most-hit zones of the catastrophe. Millions of people have since been displaced and already in need of emergency relief.

Men’s Hoops: Strong second half ends three-game skid with win over Barry

Saint Leo, Fla—The Saint Leo University men’s basketball team earned a huge conference win on Saturday, Jan. 26 over Sunshine State Conference for Barry University after a strong second half in which it overcame a 9-point halftime deficit. Despite Barry’s hot start and Saint Leo’s meager first-half performance, the Lions came out on top 63-51. The win moved the Lions to 9-9 overall and 3-5 in the SSC.
