“The Darwin Project”: Free Fun

In every community, there will always be new things that everyone seems to be into, hot fashion, new foods and hip trends. So, when it comes to the gaming community, the popular genre now would be no doubt battle royale games.

Every gaming publisher seems to be releasing this genre back and forth from the realistic gameplay of “PUBG” to the cartoony and addictive “Fortnite,” and we are all guilty of playing at least one. The real question then is what the latest popular competitor is in this ever-growing brand? The new competition would be “The Darwin Project.”

This new game, of course, has the same rules as any normal battle royale, a number of players spawn in a certain area and have to survive and be the last one standing, but unlike others before it, “The Darwin Project” focuses more on the overall fun that every player can have even if they lose. Every player in a match, instead of having to look for better weapons frantically, their competitors can focus more on surviving because everyone only gets a bow and an ax.

The idea behind this is that the developers of the game Scavenger Studios wanted their players to focus more on the idea of survival instincts than worrying about having a legendary weapon. They make up for these things with an amazing but simple crafting system where the players can create traps and gadgets to give them the edge they might need, whether it’s catching an opponent off guard with a bear trap or escaping a tight situation with a homemade glider.

There are even hidden abilities that players can unlock to assist them such as a cloaking device which will make players nearly invisible to devise a sneaky attack on their enemies.

All of these things make this battle royale far more interesting than others, but on top of this, all players must be careful not to freeze to death in their environment for the entire map takes place in a dark, cold tundra with snow and mountains everywhere.

If the game doesn’t seem exciting enough yet, Scavenger Studios beats its opponents when it comes down to private lobbies. Every player who owns the game can create his or her own private lobby with however many friends he or she wants, from a simple 1v1 all the way to 13 players. Players can have fun with all their friends or try their luck with random people. To top this off, players have a choice to be the director of the games they commence, where they have the option of where item drops are, what sections of the map to close off, giving hints to players in the game and even making hilarious map-wide announcements to put a humorous twist to the game. The fun to be had playing this game is beyond normal proportions, and this game is worth your time, not to mention it’s free!
