Earth Day’s theme for 2023 is “Restore our Earth.” When thinking about this phrase, we must consider investing in our planet.

To invest back in our planet, we must work together and do all the things necessary for a healthy, and long-lasting Earth. We all live here, so we should feel like it is necessary to take care of our home.

There are many ways we can invest in our planet, some small and some large, but they will all make a difference.

“With governments, businesses, institutions, and the more than 1 billion people who participate in Earth Day every year, we can come up with solutions to the world’s most challenging problem, which is climate change.” said Kathleen Rogers, president of Earthday.org.

To invest in our earth, we must know what some of the greatest problems that earth faces are. Some of these issues include climate restoration, regenerative agriculture, environment and social justice, supply chain resilience, plastic pollution, resource scarcity, food security, the green economy, biodiversity restoration, universal climate literacy, according to Earth Day 2023 – Earth Day.

To make change and invest in our planet, we must let our actions speak louder than words. From our children to our adults, to our government, there is something everyone can do. Children can make posters and promote restoring our earth while adults can join many programs and offer their assistance.

There are many acts of green you can participate in. You can make your voice heard by supporting the earth bill, telling businesses to stop deforestation, making changes in the fashion industry, supporting the global plastic treaty and you can join the protect endangered species act.

Some simpler and more common acts of green are planting a tree with the Canopy Project, joining a cleanup, or trying to grow your own plants.

You can take political action by advocating for climate action, supporting climate and environmental literacy, and registering to vote. Every vote matters, and if you think our earth should be restored, then you should vote for someone who believes the same.

If you would prefer to take individual action, you can make your next meal plant based, volunteer with an organization, try an act of green or make an earth day window sign.

Let us say you are more on the creative side, and you have your own idea of a green act, you can create it and share it with others. Every act of green counts.

Together we can restore our Earth!
