Last Minute Halloween Costumes

With Halloween approaching fast sometimes you need a quick costume that will get you your extra bingo card on Halloween Bingo night. The thing is, what is so easy to put together, that is affordable and unique? Of course, you can throw on a white sheet and cut out the infamous two eye holes, but there are so many other things you could do without breaking the bank!

The first step to finding a fast, cheap and easy costume is to look in your own closet. There are so many simple costumes that only require your everyday clothes and a bit of creativity. Most TV show characters can be pulled off this way. For example, one of CWTV’s very famous shows based off the Archie Comics known as “Riverdale” has some very easy costuming. The five main characters Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and Cheryl all have very distinct looks. Betty is known for her peter pan collar shirts and high ponytail.

Veronica for her black dresses and white pearls, Cheryl for any outfit including red and her red lips, Jughead for his beanie and leather jacket and finally Archie for his letterman jacket and red hair. Similar ideas can be done with other shows such as “Stranger Things,” “The Office,” “Friends” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” The best part about choosing a TV show or movie, means there are more character options for when you’re in need of a group costume.

Some of the best last-minute costumes come from a comedic point of view. “Cereal Killer” is a great example of a punny outfit. All you have to do is take a shirt and glue mini empty cereal boxes on it and stab a plastic knife into each box, and if you’re really into the costume splatter some fake blood all over the shirt! Everyone will get a great laugh out of your shirt, and it even fits the spooky season theme. You can continue the jokes by taking a plain shirt and writing “life” in large letters across the front. Then, grab a couple of lemons to hand out and you have yourself “when life gives you lemons…” To really make this costume fun, you can ask a friend to dress like a glass of lemonade!

You can also always go traditional and pull off witches, mummies, vampires and scarecrows. For a witch, all you need is a dark colored dress, a stuffed black cat, a broom and a pointy hat! Mummies are easy to replicate with some toilet paper or gauze. Vampires only need a cape, white face paint and some extra pointy teeth. And finally a scarecrow could be created by wearing a plaid shirt, throwing on some scary face paint (or cute depending on the look you’re going for) and some jeans.

Some other random ideas for costumes include fruit (or for a group a fruit bowl), a tacky tourist, nerds, Beanie Babies or even an error code. The best part of Halloween is becoming whatever or whoever you wish to be. You can make anything a costume, all it takes is a little imagination and some fun!
