IT, based on the Steven King novel written in 1986 is about a demonic clown from outer space that feeds mainly on the fear of children. Every 28 years, the clown re-emerges at the town of Derry. The clown, Pennywise eventually meets his doom by the “Loser Club” which consists of Bill, Eddie, Ben, Richie, Stan, Beverly, and Mike. When they got older everyone, but Mike left, everyone forgot that they were born and raised in Derry, so everything regarding Pennywise never happened to them. When you leave the town, you forget all about the problems that have been going on.

The characters now adults in IT 2 have continued their lives becoming successful. Bill became an author. Beverly at the beginning of the first and second movie was being abused, first by her dad then her husband, who she eventually leaves. Ben became a successful architect when returning to Derry, Beverly finally notices him. Stan was affected the most by Pennywise since he was attacked when he was alone. His ongoing fear went into his adulthood, causing him to commit suicide. Eddie grew up to be a risk analyst, in the fight with Pennywise, he died. Richie became a comedian since he was always known as the humorous one. Mike is the only African American in the group. Mike became a librarian, obsessed in finding a way to defeat Pennywise, and was the one that got everyone back home.

The movie attempts to continue from the first chapter of IT. Because of the slow plot, very little character development and lack of horror scenes, it’s just a gory remake of an old movie. The movie itself is an inside joke to the film. In the film, Bill is making a movie where everyone says the ending to his film is too simple. Simple like the ending of IT is as everyone goes their separate ways and lives happily ever after, which is also too simple. They could’ve put more effort into making it an actual horror movie, instead of just a remake. Viewers shouldn’t go in expecting a fast-paced horror movie as it is the complete opposite.
