The third week of games in the NFL season have come to an end and there was plenty of great fantasy football performances by some of the biggest stars in the game. Here are some of the best performances from Week Three in the NFL:

Tom Brady, QB New England Patriots:

In what was supposed to be an easy victory against Houston rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson, the Patriots struggled to maintain a lead throughout the whole game. Brady and the New England offense were able to seal the victory with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks in the final 30 seconds of the game. The Houston defense was all over Brady on Sunday with five sacks and a forced fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Even with all of the pressure, the veteran quarterback was able to throw for 378 yards and five touchdowns resulting in a 35 fantasy point performance in standard leagues. Brady has looked as good as ever this season and will give Aaron Rodgers a run for his money as the best quarterback in fantasy football by the end of the season.

Jordan Howard, RB Chicago Bears:

The second year running back erased all of the doubt that was associated with him coming into this week with a monster game against the Steelers. Howard brought his best stuff on Sunday as he ran for 138 yards on 23 carries after only rushing for seven yards the week prior. At the time of this writing, the only running back with more fantasy points this week is Todd Gurley (32.9 standard league points), but Howard’s total of 26.4 fantasy points makes him more than worthy to make this list. Owners should expect many more great performances from Howard this season especially as he continues to get healthy following a nagging shoulder injury.

Stefon Diggs, WR Minnesota Vikings:

It looks like Diggs can make magic happen with whoever is throwing him the ball. The young wide receiver put on fireworks in Week One with Quarterback Sam Bradford, but in just his second game with Case Keenum he posted his best fantasy point performance of his career (29.3 points in standard scoring) and his second highest yardage total in a single game. It hasn’t been easy to trust Vikings pass catchers over the last few years, but in just two games at home, the team has averaged about 355 passing yards, making Diggs and fellow wide receiver Adam Thielen solid starting options every week.

T.Y. Hilton, WR Indianapolis Colts:

The veteran wide receiver was a second or third round pick in most leagues this season, and up until this week he was barely startable. Hilton can’t be solely blamed for his early season struggles as he’s been playing without his usual quarterback Andrew Luck, but this week it didn’t seem to matter as he was able to connect with Jacoby Brissett for 153 yards and a touchdown against the Browns. The speedster has always been known to be a boom or bust type of player,

because while this explosive performance will likely be seen again this season, he will still give owners a lot of weeks with small numbers if he fails to make big plays consistently. Luckily for owners, Andrew Luck could be returning to practice this week, meaning Hilton is getting closer to becoming more reliable once he has his usual quarterback throwing him the ball.

Marcedes Lewis, TE Jacksonville Jaguars:

Lewis had himself quite a game across the Atlantic with the Jaguars playing against the Ravens in London. The veteran tight end reached the end zone three times and finished the game with 62 receiving yards, easily making this the best fantasy game in his 12 year career. While it was an impressive performance, Lewis should not be started in most fantasy leagues. Lewis has been regarded as more of a blocking tight end in his lengthy career and it wouldn’t be a surprise if failed to score a touchdown the rest of the year. His three touchdowns on Sunday is the same amount of scores he has had over the past three seasons combined, which should be enough to show he is not worth adding to your team. Congratulations to Marcedes on his great game, but don’t think he’s now relevant in fantasy football.
