Everyone loves technology for business, school, gaming, or simply recreation because it makes life easier. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go is suitable for most of these listed categories at a great price.

The base model of the laptop has an Intel-Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage. The screen is 12.4” with a 1536 x 1024 resolution, and it is also a touchscreen. The price is usually $549.99 but is currently on sale for $399.99 on Microsoft’s website.

The laptop can be configured to upgrade the hardware for a few more bucks. If you want to do more with this device, you can go for the more expensive options. The more expensive option of this device also comes with a fingerprint scanner, making it easier and quicker to log in if the device is locked.

The Surface Pro laptop comes in three different colors to choose from: Platinum, Ice Blue, and Sandstone.

It comes with Windows 10 software, but it can be upgraded to Microsoft’s newest Windows 11. The hardware is compatible and meets the requirements to run the latest version of the software.

The battery life is excellent, considering that it stays on for up to 13 hours during actual use of the device.

It includes ports on the side of the device. 1 USB-C (for newer technology; USB-C has become very popular), 1 USB-A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port. It has a 720p HD resolution front-facing camera. Also, it has wireless and Bluetooth technology with the addition of speakers by Dolby Audio.

This laptop is excellent for students because it is lightweight and compact, making it easy to slip into a bookbag, laptop sleeve, or case.

Students can be very mobile with it. The battery life is also beneficial to students. They can do work for long periods without plugging it in, which comes in handy if you mistakenly forgot your charger one day.

The 720p HD front-facing camera is suitable for Zoom calls because of the quality of the camera. A feature like this is very beneficial because of the virtual world we live in due to the pandemic.

Although things have been transitioning back to face-to-face, this feature is still necessary if you may need it in the future. For the price, this computer is a great investment.

The 4GB of RAM and the processor speed are suitable for students who have a workload to handle. It helps with efficiency and multitasking. Applications can be opened quickly while having other things opened simultaneously—this is convenient for college students who may need to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

This computer has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility, giving students the option to connect to wireless networks and their Bluetooth devices such as wireless headphones and mouses.

Microsoft also gives users the option to add some of their own branded accessories to include with their purchase, most notably the Surface Pen and Surface Headphones. In addition to all that, this computer is very durable and has excellent design quality.

The biggest con of this laptop is that it doesn’t have a backlit keyboard, meaning that it will be difficult to see the keyboard in dark environments.

Overall, it’s a great buy, and you’re getting your money’s worth. It also comes with a limited hardware warranty for one year, so you don’t have to spend money on an extended warranty.

I would give this device 4/5 paws.
