On May 21, the Diocese of St. Petersburg will witness the ordination of two men to the Catholic priesthood—including, notably, Saint Leo University alumnus Zachary “Zach” Brasseur, who graduated from Saint Leo in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in theology.
There’s nothing more bitter than hindsight, something that we upperclassmen in college are unfortunately very aware of. Therefore, it is our duty as upperclassmen to inform our underclassmen—especially freshmen—of the dos and don’ts of college to help them make the most of their college experience.

remember in my first swim practice with the team at Saint Leo University, a senior swimmer told me, “Enjoy every second, because in a day you will be applying to jobs and leaving college,” and here I am, writing a piece of advice, looking for jobs, with an overwhelming uncertainty that I do not wish on any person.
Now that my time at Saint Leo is almost over, I reflect on everything that I have learned which I plan to take with me to the Bahamas where I will begin my professional career as a journalist and eventually become a novelist.

Although every incoming freshman class is “the biggest yet” at Saint Leo University, it’s important to remember the graduate of previous classes. Having weathered through COVID-19, the old Colleges and Honors program and a different university president, Saint Leo’s alumni have seen it all.
