There is nothing better than seeing a Thanksgiving table covered with bowls and plates of hot, mouthwatering food. While Saint Leo University students all come from many different places and backgrounds, one thing is for certain—they all love to eat. Naturally, we had to know—what is the best Thanksgiving food?
Six common Thanksgiving foods were used for the purpose of this survey: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and pumpkin pie.
Both Wren Chretien, a freshman majoring in criminal justice, and Chloe Doherty, a freshman majoring in forensic science, agreed that stuffing is the best Thanksgiving food.
Stuffing is a popular choice for a Thanksgiving spread, typically used to stuff a turkey or to have on its own. It is made of bread, broth, and vegetables. No wonder it is the winner!
However, Maeve Kiley, a freshman majoring in English, disagreed, noting that turkey is her favorite Thanksgiving food out of the six options.
Rolls came in second place, to no surprise. They are a classic, versatile side that almost everyone can enjoy!
Coming in last place, with an overwhelming consensus, is green bean casserole. Although it is a classic, it seems to be becoming less and less popular, warranting its place at the bottom of the list.
While Thanksgiving is a holiday focused on food, it is important to remember to spend time with family and friends, and to be grateful for the food we are blessed with.
