While the NFL playoffs are not here yet, they are rapidly approaching. Without any clear direction of how the season will pan out, it is good to look at the current situation and possible scenarios in the last quarter of the season.
Championship week has ended and the final rankings are set for the college football season. With the regular season over and conference champions decided, the College Football Playoffs are officially set.
The Saint Leo University volleyball team came back home from a short break this season with the South Region Crossover. Hosting a game against Tritons of Eckerd College on Nov. 2, they won three sets to none, 25-19, 25-20, 25-20, consecutively, leading them to three wins and three losses in the whole tournament.
As we move into Thanksgiving and winter break, we also enter into the winter sports season. The beginning of winter sports means the wrap-up of fall sports with some seasons already ending.
The sports industry in America attracts all kinds of people to watch and/or participate in sporting events. Unfortunately, this can include fans, players, and coaches that don’t always believe in demonstrating respect on and off the field.
Both Saint Leo University’s men and women soccer teams are well past the halfway point of the season with five games remaining for each team. While their seasons might not have been ideal up to this point, there is still a lot worth highlighting.
Women in sports share the same sentiments regarding free speech, not only on the international stage, but right here on the Saint Leo campus. The athletes were asked: “As a women athlete, do you feel your voice is heard enough or is there still more work to be done in that regard?”
Thankfully, in fall 2021, sports are taking place at the correct time. Fans are allowed to attend the games to cheer on the Lions while the fall teams pick up where they left off in 2019.
