Lions’ Lair Is the New Way To Go

Saint Leo University offers a wide variety of foods in its cafeteria through a system of stations designated to separate specialties. With the growing number of students, faculty, and staff on campus, some cannot find the time in their busy schedules to sit in line to get in the cafeteria. Some students are now seeing that the Lions’ Lair is a better option to go to in terms of food.

Thinking Of Home On Family Day

On Saturday, Oct. 20, Saint Leo University threw their annual Family Fall Festival. During this time, university students enjoyed many activities set up by SGU and were able to invite their families to spend a day with them on campus. While most local students enjoy the company of their families, most international students are unable to have their families visit. On this day, it was a reminder that international students are away from their families and friends back home.

Senate Elections

It is the beginning of a new academic year; students came from across the world to gather here at Saint Leo University as one big family. To ensure that the students’ voices are heard, senate elections are held at the beginning of every academic year. Students will have the opportunity to vote this September 11th at the Dining Hall and the SAB Loggia or online at https://eballot4.votenet.com/SaintLeo/login.cfm.

Frank Mezzanini steps down as CFO, leaves lasting impression

On July 25, the campus email lit up with a message from the office of the president of Saint Leo University to all Saint Leo employees. That message contained the news that Frank Mezzanini, vice president of Business Affairs and chief financial officer, had announced his retirement.

Laundry Room at Saint Leo: Issues and Suggestions

Several students are complaining about the laundry rooms in the residence halls at Saint Leo University. Both male and female students encounter the same problems. Since there are not enough washers and dryers, the laundry process becomes slower and harder. Besides this, certain students leave their belongings in the laundry room for hours; thus, cause other students to wait for them.

Not Coming Back

With a record breaking number of incoming freshmen, the halls seem to be more packed than ever here at Saint Leo University. However, the number of freshmen who are staying is slowly decreasing due to many different reasons, most of them related to finances.

Meet Your Professor

Brian Camp, Ph.D. is a new assistant professor of mathematics as of this fall in the School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Camp comes to Saint Leo University from Louisiana Tech where he has spent the last seven years as a lecturer of mathematics. Before working at Louisiana Tech, he also taught at Oregon State and at his alma mater, Virginia Tech. It was at Virginia Tech that Dr. Camp earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering
