Surviving Finals Week

It is coming to the end of the semester where stress begins to fill the air as students await to take their finals. These finals mark the final grade students receive to either help or worsen their class average in hopes for the highest possible grade. However, students should realize that finals week is not the end of the world so do not panic. Yes, it is important to study and take time to relearn older material previously covered in their courses, but it is just a test. People put emphasis on the word final, making other stress the idea that it is still just a test.

Monster Bash

The atmosphere was calm and fun as the students of the University enjoyed festivities at the Monster Bash. This event was hosted by the Dining Hall. Students and staff dressed up to celebrate Halloween. There was plenty of candy and goodies for the students to enjoy.

Softball Slams into First Place: A Productive Weekend for the Lions

It has been a season high for the University Softball Team as the ladies are now at an impressive 34-14 record and sit in first place with a Sunshine State Conference record of 14-4. The ladies hosted the Eckerd College Tritons in Conference Action this weekend and did not disappoint Lion fans as they swept the Tritons in impressive fashion.

What makes the struggle even more depressing is that there are thousands of scholarships available for any type of student in the world. Monster Fish Invade Florida’s Waters

Biologist Kelly Gestring caught a 14-pound fish in Broward County, nearly breaking an international record, and he isn’t happy about it. The species of fish Gestring caught was a bullseye snakehead, an invasive species in Florida’s freshwater systems. It can breathe air, enabling it to survive outside of water for days. They were discovered in Broward County’s waters in 2000, and haven’t been eliminated since.
