Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is celebrated every March 31. It aims to bring attention to the discrimination and violence faced by the trans community while also celebrating their lives and contributions.
On April 8th, Saint Leo University officially opened the new Wellness Center located on the university’s main campus in Saint Leo, FL. The center is dedicated to mind, body, and spirit connections. The Wellness Center is open to students, faculty, staff, and others outside the school community. As a way of maintaining the community-oriented nature of the Wellness Center, there are policies about membership and rules to follow while using the facilities at the center.
Saint Leo University is looking toward the future. With the grand opening of the new Wellness Center, the University has expanded its ability to cater to the needs of its students, staff, and the community around the institution.
For many, poetry serves as more than just an outlet for self-expression. It becomes a realm of creativity, a way to express thoughts and emotions that would otherwise be unvoiced. For Sigma Tau Delta (English Honors Society) and Saint Leo’s Creative Writing specialization, writing can also be a form of bonding and building a community of like-minded individuals.
The College of Business at Saint Leo University hosted a “Business Week” event, opened to all students regardless of major from March 28-30. One of the main events held during the week was “Dress for Success,” hosted by the IMASC (the accounting club) with a presentation by Dr. Passard Dean, director of graduate studies/chair & professor of accounting, economics, and finance.
Saint Leo University’s new program, “Mission-Driven Leaders: Conversations on Purpose,” welcomed alumnus Nick DeMarinis back to campus for an interactive conversation to kick off the second day of Business Week on March 28, 2022.
On March 29, 2021, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted the “Splash your Insecurities” event. CAB events aim to promote and foster a sense of community among university students, and events like “Splash your Insecurities” reflect this goal.
As the child of a public school teacher and an attorney, Judge Brown-Jackson’s love for practicing law came naturally. Jackson was born in Washington DC in 1970, she then moved with her parents to Miami at a young age.
