Young talent at Saint Leo University

Chelsea DeVries is a 19 year old Saint Leo University student and has already written ten novels, two of which have been published. She is majoring in accounting and is getting her minor inwriting. This reporter interviewed DeVries to get a closer look at her book writing experiences.

Alaskan college in need of Saint Leo’s help

Back in 2007, Sheldon Jackson College, located in Sitka, Alaska, was shut down due to low enrollment and lack of funding. Since that time, John Peterson, science professor at Saint Leo since 2001, intends to take a group of students from Saint Leo to help volunteer and revitalize the once prestigious college.

Team in Training: A project of hope and strength

Katie Gramlich and her boyfriend, Steve Ferraro, have been battling Steve’s Lymphoma for about a year. She, along with others found a place to fight for the ones they love through the Team in Training. The Team in Training was established a year after Steve’s birth, in 1988 in New York, the very state he grew up in.

After a Friday of registering family and friends, welcoming them with Illusionist Wayne Hoffman as well as a movie night featuring The Goonies, the main event took place the next day. Starting at eleven on the crisp Saturday morning and ending at three in the hot afternoon, the Fall Family Festival commenced.
