The Lions’ Pride continues to honor the students of Saint Leo University, and this issue will honor senior, Molly Hauser, who is majoring in communications with a minor in hospitality.
Originally from Pittsburg, Hauser lives in Tampa and intends to graduate Saint Leo in the fall of 2022. First interested in joining Saint Leo’s cheer team, Hauser was excited to learn she had received an academic scholarship to the school. Since studying at the university for more than three years, Hauser said that she has truly found her interests and passions.
“I can honestly say that I am glad that I choose Saint Leo because I have found my major of interest to study as well have been given many leadership opportunities that I don’t think I would have gotten as easily at another college,” said Hauser.
Hauser has taken on many leadership roles within her sorority, Theta Phi Alpha, which she has become very involved with. After asking what is one thing she has done since coming to school here, she mentioned, “Going Greek has changed my life for the better. I love having a group of friends that I can fall back on.”
Additionally, something she noted when it comes to her favorite thing about the university, is how easy it is for students to become active and involved on campus. With Saint Leo being such a small school, it is easier for students to stay active in organizations and clubs.
“I also love the smaller classes of 15-20 people, because I can be academically challenged with some subjects, and I can easily get the help that I need,” said Hauser.
Saint Leo makes it helpful for students to get the best education. The class sizes allow professors to invest in their students and ensure they are getting the help they need. To future Lions or students considering joining the Saint Leo community, Hauser said having an open mind will enhance the university experience.
“I would say come into college with an open mind, meaning be willing to try new tasks and challenges out of your comfort zone,” Hauser said. “I would also get involved on campus either with a sports team, Greek life, or clubs to keep yourself involved outside of your classes.”
Five years from now, Hauser sees herself finding a full-time position in event planning with her degree and plans on staying somewhat local to the area. She will either remain in Tampa or move to Orlando.
“I would love to plan small and big parties, weddings, etc. for a company or potentially start my own event planning company,” she said.
