Senior Spotlight: Thomas Rey – Swimming

Senior swimmer Thomas Rey was born in Tampa, Fla. and is majoring in Communications at Saint Leo University. He has been committed to the Lions’ swim team all four years of his college career. Rey lists his greatest achievements as breaking the school record for the men’s 800 freestyle relay in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships in 2010 which remains on the record board to date. One of his greatest moments of his swimming career at Saint Leo is getting third place at conference his freshmen year in 2008 in the Sunshine State Conference Championships. Another top achievement Rey remembers is beating Rollins College for the first time in history at the Sunshine State Conference Championships in 2008.

After six years of Rey’s swimming life career, he will move on as he will graduate this upcoming May 2011. Rey hopes to get a career as a sports broadcaster after graduation. Come and show support for the Lions’ swimming last home meet as all of the seniors will be honored.

The Lions’ Pride wishes Thomas Rey the best of luck during his completion of his senior year of swimming as well as his future endeavors!
