As Thanksgiving break approaches at Saint Leo University, many students prepare to go home while others stay on campus.
Thanksgiving break allows students to pause, express gratitude for their growth and accomplishments, and recharge their energy for the challenges ahead, primarily their final exams.
On Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, Saint Leo University’s dining hall hosted a Thanksgiving feast, offering everyone a chance to enjoy a festive Thanksgiving meal.
Everyone joined together to savor the flavor of gratitude, eating various tasty meals. The dining hall was filled with laughter and merriment as students came together to share some of their favorite Thanksgiving meals.
Various Thanksgiving meats were on offer, including glazed smoked ham, succulent turkey, and crispy turkey legs, catering to anyone craving delicious Thanksgiving meats.
Additionally, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and sweet potato yams were served separately or as a combination, creating a mouthwatering and delightful ensemble. There is no Thanksgiving without mac and cheese, with a golden crisp crust and a creamy, flavorsome interior.
“I got the ham served with mac and cheese and the mac and cheese was really good,” said Tazmyn Sawyer, a freshman majoring in business.
The beloved Thanksgiving dish, a favorite of many, cheesy macaroni, made its appearance a delight loved by many students for its delicious taste.
“I was really surprised at how good the mac and cheese were,” said Lavardo Richards, a sophomore majoring in marketing.
For those with a sweet tooth yearning after savory meals, a selection of Blue Bunny ice cream flavors was served, accompanied by various delightful toppings to enhance the experience.
The flavors of ice cream included mint chocolate chip, strawberry, and vanilla. Additionally, on the side, chocolate syrup, caramel, whipped cream, and other delicious toppings were available to complement the ice cream.
This delightful Thanksgiving feast wouldn’t be complete without a selection of tasty pies.
A tempting array of pies sat there, waiting for students to eat them. The flavors included pumpkin, apple, blueberry, chocolate with whipped cream, and various other options.
Thanksgiving is always a wonderful time as it brings everyone together in a spirit of gratefulness as a lovely Thanksgiving feast awaits. Moments of warmth, reflection, and shared bliss fill the air.
