If you want to have a fun summer with a wide variety of activities and still be in contact with Christ, the Life Teen Summer Mission is what you are looking for.
On Oct.19, members of the Life Teen came to Saint Leo University to share information with the students and staff about their summer mission. At their table full of candies and chocolates, they informed each student passing by about their incredible summer mission and recruiting.
“I think that this project is an amazing opportunity for anyone to be able to both grow more in their faith and learn new experiences,” said Arianna Rodriguez, a freshman majoring in political science. “Even if you are not super faith filled, I feel like this project can impact someone’s life because you will be able to see how other people live and maybe take on a new appreciation for your life.”
This summer camp is recruiting people to be a missionary and help them with camping. They are offering two unique ways to serve: “summer staff” and “service crew.”
During the summer camp, the summer staff will lead school teens closer to Christ. According to the Life Teen’s website, while the campers develop a beautiful and disciplined relationship with Christ, the summer staff will lead them through various activities, experiences in small groups, and times of prayer.
The application for “Summer staff” closes on November 27, 2022.
Furthermore, Life Teen’s website states that people who work as service crew will provide their services behind the scenes. These missionaries’ teams are crucial for the good operation of the camp. They provide safety, food, and fun for campers, so they can enjoy the camp while growing their relationship with Christ.
The application for “Service Crew” closes on Jan. 8, 2023.
There are three sessions for the summer staff, two in Georgia and one in California. While for the service crew, there are only two sessions, one in Georgia and the other one in California. All the sessions are for the summer of 2023.
This event is a unique and stupendous opportunity for anyone from Saint Leo University. It genuinely follows Catholic identity and core values of Saint Leo. According to Saint Leo University’s website “We are an outgrowth of Catholic social teaching, which insists that human institutions and relationships be based on dignity as well as social and economic justice.” You will not want to skip this possibility to be in contact with Christ, serve Him, and to have fun.
“I signed up for this project the day they brought their information table!” said Rodriguez. “I am very excited!”
