Leo Love Week, hosted from Feb. 12 to 16, was a great success, featuring numerous events that captured the hearts of all the students. The events throughout the week allowed students to enjoy a break from studying, and they offered something enjoyable for everyone to take part in, ensuring they felt loved. Organizations such as CAB, SGU, and SAB did a fantastic job contributing to Leo Love Week.

To kick off the weeklong events, Remedy Farms brought alpacas to the Wellness Center lawn. Students had the opportunity to take pictures with the animals, pet them, and they even wore adorable pink and red bow ties.

During lunch on Tuesday, a table was set up featuring a cookie-making station, complete with frosting and sprinkles. Additionally, there were desserts such as mini pastries and chocolate-covered strawberries available for guests to enjoy.

Carrying on the food theme, Res Life, and University Safety, in the Selby Auditorium, gave the students cookies and hot chocolate.

To finish off the day, CAB hosted Valentine’s Bingo, which featured fun prizes for students, such as a Lego rose set, a Stanley tumbler, a slushie maker, and an ice cream maker.

“I loved Bingo, and all the tables outside handing out treats,” said Mia Abetrani, a freshman majoring in business marketing.

On Wednesday, Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday, the events were fantastic and full of Valentine’s Day cheer. CAB hosted a lovely event called “Donuts and Roses” near the clock tower, where they handed out sweets, treats, and roses.

Maddie Montana, freshman, majoring in Business management, said “I loved CAB giving out flowers for Valentine’s Day!”

All day, as well, there was a blood drive going on hosted by Theta Phi Alpha. It was called, “Love Like Noah Blood Drive,” in memory of 13-year-old Noah, who passed away last year in February. He is the brother of one of Theta Phi Alpha’s sisters, so that is where they got the name. It was a great idea, and because of the motto, people donated to the cause.

Right next to the truck, later in the evening, there was a sunset and painting event. The tablecloth was pink, adorned with Valentine’s decorations, and, of course, there were paints, paintbrushes, and canvases.

Attendees painted Valentine’s-themed pictures, some featuring hearts, pink and red themes, and beautiful designs. It was a charming and enjoyable event for all to unleash their creativity and watch the pink sunset.

On Thursday, the spring pep rally lunch was hosted on SAB lawn open for students, faculty, and staff. They had amazing food, such as mac and cheese, beans, fruit, and refreshing drinks.

The Saint Leo cheerleaders did amazing stunts, followed by performances by the Gold Rush dancers. Students had the opportunity to win prizes by answering trivia questions correctly, they had lawn games set up to enjoy themselves while catching up with friends.

To conclude the end of Leo Love week, CAB hosted an event by the clock tower, called, “with Love” where they handed out cupcakes in the afternoon.

Leo Love week was a happy, joyful week, and thanks to faculty and students for making it so special.
