On Dec. 4, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Campus Activities Board (CAB) held “Deck the Halls Bingo”. CAB members Whitney Cherrelus, Director of Campus Engagement Chair, and Sayuri Vargas-Hernandez, Director of Marketing, hosted the event.
It was the first bingo night with a Christmas theme, and many students came to play and enjoy the holiday spirit.
CAB welcomed everyone in and explained the rules of the game. Students made the event fun, which also made the game flow easily.
The prizes were one of the most exciting parts of the night. Each prize was wrapped like a Christmas present, so nobody knew what they would win until they opened it. This made the game more surprising and exciting because students didn’t know what they would win. The prizes were very popular items: a TV, two Nintendo Switch consoles, a camera, a Meta Quest headset, and a JBL speaker.

“Even though I didn’t win anything this time, I had so much fun because during the game, students were shaking with excitement as they got close to winning and didn’t know what was in the wrapped prizes,” said Miranda Galaviz, a senior majoring in Biomedical Sciences.
As the bingo numbers were called, the room was full of laughter and cheers. Some players were close to winning, while others shouted “Bingo!” with big smiles. Friends clapped for each other, and everyone enjoyed the holiday spirit together.
The event was not only about winning prizes. It was also about bringing students together. December is a busy month with exams and deadlines, but “Deck the Halls Bingo” gave students a chance to relax and celebrate.
At the end of the night, eight lucky winners took home amazing gifts. But even those who did not win left with good memories and were ready for the next bingo game in the spring semester. The wrapped prizes, holiday decorations, and the friendly atmosphere made the event special.

CAB showed once again how important it is to create fun activities for students. Many people hope this Christmas bingo will become a tradition in future years. “Deck the Halls Bingo” was more than just a game. It was a celebration of Christmas, friendship, and community.
