With highly anticipated releases from iconic authors and upcoming writers, there’s no shortage of fresh fiction to enjoy. Get ready to turn the pages and dive into the books that will be sure to define this year!
One of the most eagerly awaited releases of this year hits the stores April 22, Emily Henry’s Great Big Beautiful Life. Known for her charming and emotionally rich novels, Henry’s latest work delves into the lives of two writers competing for the opportunity to tell the story of a fascinating woman, whose life is filled with unexpected twists and turns.
It’s a novel that promises to tug at your heartstrings while offering plenty of mystery elements, all while showcasing Henry’s signature storytelling style.
Another book creating buzz this year is by iconic author, John Green notably known for his work of The Fault In Our Stars (2012) and Looking for Alaska (2005), his book comes out March 18, and is called Everything Is Tuberculosis. Enjoyers of the series will finally know the story behind Katniss’s Mentor, Haymitch, and his time during the games, especially since his game was the Quarter Quell where twice as many tributes will be taken from their districts.
Finally, one of the most raved about book series amongst the BookTok community on the social media app, TikTok, is set to come out early in the new year, Jan. 21. Rebecca Yarros’s, OnxyStorm, book three of The Empyrean series has created a storm of conversation for the anticipated release of this well-loved story.
The series picks up with Violet Sorrengail, who is now the first rider to bond with two dragons at once. Senior Makayla Bech, an English major here at Saint Leo University, gave her input for the upcoming release, “I hope the third book is better than the second! I’m waiting to have the same feelings for the series as the first book made me feel.”
