Over the years there have been many legendary monsters from movies, TV shows, and folklore that continue to scare people of all ages. Here is a quick tour of the most famous, bone-chilling, spine-tingling horror stories of all time.
“One, two, Freddy’s coming’ for you. Three, four, you’d better lock your door. Five, six, grab a crucifix. Seven, eight, you’d better stay up late. Nine, ten… never sleep again.”
Anyone who recognized the song above is probably familiar with Freddy Krueger. Freddy is the main character in the Nightmare on Elm Street movie series. He can manipulate a victim’s dreams to cause the physical harm done in the dream to actually hurt the victim.
For example, if Freddy cut a person’s stomach, when that person woke up he/she would have cuts on his/her stomach.
“I remember being a little girl, and I was always afraid to sleep. I thought that Freddy Krueger was going to come through my sheets and kill me in my dreams,” said Kyra Cuadrado.
Has anyone ever thought her doll is staring at her or watching her while she slept?
Once someone sees the “Chucky” movie series, they have never been able to look at dolls the same way.
Chucky is the main character in Child’s Play, Child’s Play 2, Child’s Play 3, Bride of Chucky, and Seed of Chucky.
Fun fact: Chucky is based off of a real doll. Who would not be scared if they got a Chucky doll for Christmas?
“After seeing the movie, I was so afraid to have dolls in my room and take showers,” said Eryn Che.
Being scared of clowns is a normal fear. However, many more people began to fear clowns when the movie It came out.
It is about a horrifying looking clown that goes around killing teenagers. The clown lives in the sewer. Many people could never walk by a sewer and not think about the ugly murderous clown waiting to drag them to his house of death after seeing this movie.
Is there a room that is always cold? Does anyone feel like someone is always following him/her? Or do you find people find items missing on a regular basis?
These people may have a ghost living with them. But do not worry, the Ghost Busters will be there to investigate the problem.
Being afraid of ghosts is a popular fear. Many people fear that they are living in a house that is haunted by ghost, and more evidence is published everyday proving that ghosts are real.
A man is given a gun and is dared to stay in a graveyard all night. Most people would not do it, even if he had a deadly weapon in their hand.
We all know that it is only a matter of time until the zombies start showing up. No one wants to be the victim of being murdered by a zombie. They may not seem like a threat since they move so slowly, but whole pack of zombies and only six bullets is not good odds. Fans of the Walking Dead are probably already preparing for the zombie apocalypse.
Whether people believe in monsters or not, most people probably have some dark memories of cowering under the covers for fear of one or more of these monsters appearing out of the darkness and attacking.
