Spring is officially here, which means there are many events being held in Dade City and right here at Saint Leo University. We are talking about kickoff events, pageants, and jellybean flings! Sprinkle a little bit of fun and excitement into your spring schedule by attending an event! Considering the university’s recent partnership with Pepsi (you can read about it here), a special kickoff event will be held on Monday, March 20 on the SCC Patio from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be free samples and free giveaways! For students and faculty alike, this is one that you will not want to miss.

Additionally, consider adding the Dade City Jellybean Fling to your calendar on March 25. This event will be held at the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village, a 10-minute drive from Saint Leo. There will be vendors, live entertainment, an Easter egg hunt, food, and more! The museum will also be open for viewing- a perfect time to brush up on Dade City’s history!

The very next evening on March 26, Saint Leo’s own Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity will host Miss Black and Gold Pageant inside the SCC Boardrooms. The pageant will last from 6:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will highlight the amazing talents that Saint Leo students have!

Moreover, what better way to ring in spring than with an enchanted forest-themed Spring Formal? Join Saint Leo’s campus activities board for a night of magic on March 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This whimsical event will be held inside of the Wellness Center. Be prepared to dance, socialize, and watch the future Mr. And Ms. Saint Leo be crowned!

Finally, in 2022, a staff writer from The Lions’ Pride Media Group covered the Dade City Art Walk, and it was a blast (read more here). Guess what- they are hosting another one on Saturday, April 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.! It is not an April Fools’ joke- it is a real event that will feature local artists from all over the community.

In all, do not be afraid to get out there and strut your stuff this spring season. Saint Leo and the community surrounding it have some amazing events planned, so take it as an opportunity to de-stress, make friends, and frolic!
