It’s that time of the year when students are applying for scholarships! Here are some tips and tricks for all students to learn more about scholarships, including students’ opinions and thoughts from all grades.

A junior majoring in accounting, Tiffany Rejano, said, “I believe applying for scholarships benefits you financially where you can earn money for college. At the same time, scholarships aren’t meant to be repaid like loans. It’s better to apply for many scholarships than one because there is a chance to get them.”

Try to apply for all that applies to you. Use it even if you think you won’t get it because you never know what can happen. Don’t ignore the small awards. Every cent counts!

Continuing, if you want more scholarships, here are a few things to keep in mind. Write great essays, don’t miss the deadlines, but most importantly, don’t forget about your goals. Focus on what inspires you. You can even write an essay on community service you completed. Make sure to get involved and do the things you love.

Lastly, keep going and don’t give up. Keep improving your grades and focus. There is still time to get more scholarships! If scholarships are something you want to achieve, keep working hard and try your best in school.

Lillian Tabor, a freshman majoring in nursing, said, “A good way for getting scholarships is applying for various ones that programs offer and doing sports that help pay for college.”

If you’re interested in sports, Saint Leo offers many unique options. Again, there is always time to start.

There is a scholarship for everyone. Everyone has a hobby, volunteer experience, sport, or more that you could get money for, so keep that in mind!

Do what you love, stay focused on your goals, and apply even for the small scholarships; ultimately, doing these things will set you up on the right track!
