Every Feb. 14, love is in the air, and most of the time it is shown in the form of gifts. Most people spend a lot of money trying to buy the perfect gift even if they cannot afford it.
However, Valentine’s gifts do not have to be wasteful nor expensive. There are many ways to show your love without overspending.
One way to do this is through DIY gifts, which means do-it-yourself. They are less wasteful, inexpensive, and easy to create.
The first DIY gift you can create is a jar of candy. You will need a small jar or container, candy, a ribbon, and a little card. Place the candy into the jar or container, tie the ribbon around it, and then write a little note on the card. This gift can be made for less than $15.
Another gift is a basket of treats. This will require a small little basket that can be purchased anywhere. For Saint Leo University students, there is a Dollar General less than 5 minutes away where most of these items can be purchased.
You can then buy treats of any kind depending on what the person likes. You can add a happy Valentine’s Day note, and that will be your gift.
Additionally, roses are always a nice, inexpensive gift to give. Roses can always put a smile on someone’s face.
Not only those, but balloons with love notes are a unique, nice gift. You will need Valentine’s themed balloons and blank cards. Write love notes on the cards and tape them onto the balloons.
You can also make flowers with lollipops. They make a cute bouquet! You just need some flowers and lollipops. Place the lollipops into the flowers, and there is your gift.
Lastly, a large postcard with a love message or poem is a thoughtful and heartfelt gift to give. This is where you put your words into play. You can decorate it along with adding a heartfelt message or poem.
All these gifts are inexpensive and not wasteful at all. These can all be made for $20 and under and they are gifts you can keep forever. They are easy and thoughtful ways to show your love!
