October has been filled with many festive activities and events encouraging people to enter the Halloween spirit.
One memorable event hosted this month was Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, located at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World.
Offered nearly every evening during October, this event allows guests to experience Disney’s version of Halloween, which is a fun alternative for those who do not enjoy horror.
Guests are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the park. Designated stations are located at most ride entrances, where visitors are given complimentary trick-or-treat bags and candy.
The park screams Halloween, as nearly every light post dons a pumpkin wreath and spider web. Classic Halloween songs can be heard throughout the night as guests walk through the park.
The Halloween ambiance continues as the “Not So Spooky Spectacular” firework show begins. This firework show, hosted by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, illuminates the whole park.
During the eight hours that the event is hosted, visitors can ride classic attractions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, It’s a Small World, and (of course) The Haunted Mansion.
Since this event is only offered during the fall months, many international guests come from worldwide. Two guests in attendance, Elizabeth Daniels and Shawn Callum, traveled with their three young children from London, England, to participate in this fun event.
“I absolutely love bringing my kids here. We always have such a wonderful time. This is the fourth year that we’ve attended. Everyone is always so welcoming and friendly, which makes for a lovely atmosphere,” Daniels shared.
Daniels’ fiancé, Shawn, had a similar reaction to share.
“It is so nice that this event lasts for so long. 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. makes for a long worthwhile visit. We love to bring the kids, because they love to take pictures with each of the Disney villains,” Callum shared.
To conclude the evening, twice a night, Disney villain characters gather down Magic Kingdom’s Main Street to perform in the “Boo-to-You” parade. The lights are dimmed, as each Disney villain can be seen dancing and waving from their floats.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party runs from late August to Late October each year, making it a must-do event during the Halloween season.
