Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Jan. 20, 2025. As tradition dictates, an inauguration ceremony marked the peaceful transfer of power from former President Joe Biden to President Trump, offering a warm welcome to the new leader. Since taking office, significant developments have already unfolded under his administration.

In his inaugural address, President Trump spoke about the state of the government, declaring, “Our government confronts a crisis of trust. For many years, a radical and corrupt establishment has extracted power and wealth from our citizens.”

He later expanded on this, saying, “Our country can no longer deliver basic services in times of emergency, as recently shown by the wonderful people of North Carolina — who have been treated so badly.”

With these remarks, he laid out his vision for the government and his policy priorities.

“My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and, indeed, their freedom. From this moment on, America’s decline is over.”

The White House has provided a transcript of President Trump’s inaugural speech for those who were unable to watch.

In terms of the captivating performance at the inauguration, one notable event that everyone who watched noticed was the performance by country music singer Carrie Underwood. She sang “America the Beautiful” a cappella due to a malfunction with the music system, leaving the audience speechless.

Since taking office, President Trump has been noted for signing numerous executive orders, many of which reverse those of former President Joe Biden. Some examples of these executive orders include:

Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity: This order effectively seeks to end diversity, equity, and inclusion positions, arguing that they “have adopted and actively use dangerous, demeaning, and immoral race-and sex-based preferences under the guise of so-called “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) or “diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility” (DEIA) that can violate the civil-rights laws of this nation.”

Another group of executive orders recently passed by the Trump administration focuses on immigration, with part of the reasoning being that “states, such as the great state of Texas, have asked the federal government for protection against invasion during the Biden administration, but it failed to protect them from millions of illegal aliens entering the United States, invading their communities, and imposing billions of dollars of costs upon state and local governments.”

In addition to these executive orders, President Trump and his administration have been providing resources to those affected by Hurricane Helene in the Carolinas and relocating them to safe areas, which has been met with praise.

Overall, President Trump’s inauguration featured many significant moments, including outlining his views on the current administration and his vision for America. Since taking office, he has been highly productive in terms of executive orders and assisting the Carolinas.
