Senior Alison Luthman was born in Frankfurt, Germany, is majoring in Accounting and is receiving her minor in Mathematics. Luthman has been a competitive runner for the Lions that past three seasons at Saint Leo University. She also played one year of Tennis for the Lions during her freshman year in 2007.
Luthman has improved every year while running for the Lions. During her sophomore year, she clocked in her fastest 5K race at the Mountain Dew Invite at University of Florida at a time of 21:05.43. Her junior year was even more impressive with very consistent results, and always being the top four runners to finish for the Lions. She had outstanding races just over 21 minutes for 5K races.
Although the Cross Country season is not finished yet, Luthman’s races for her senior year have been the best races she has ever ran. Compared to her last two years with the Lions, she has been finishing her races in just a little over 20 minutes. Her best race this year was the flrunners.com in Titusville, Fl, 5K race with a time of 20:16.85. This is evident because Luthman lists her greatest achievement of Cross Country of beating her 5K personal best by over a minute during her senior year.
Luthman describes her favorite memories of Saint Leo Cross Country as “the feeling of being done with a race and going out to eat with my teammates afterward.”
Luthman has big plans for life after college. She hopes to find an accounting job in the Tampa Bay area and then continuing her education in the Accounting profession. The Lions’ Pride Newspaper wishes Alison Luthman the best of luck through-out the rest of her senior year!
