Saint Leo, Fla: The Saint Leo University Softball team will be heading to the Division II World Series after defeating the University of Alabama Huntsville in a best of three series. The Lions have been very good in their postseason play over the last two weeks, winning five of the six games they’ve played across the NCAA South Regional and Super South Regional tournament.
So far this postseason, the Lions have defeated Embry-Riddle, North Alabama, and Alabama-Huntsville in order to advance to the Division II Softball World Series. After struggling with conference play in the regular season, Saint Leo has really kicked their play into high gear and are ready to make a run for a national championship.
The Lions will have a challenging road ahead in order to win a title. A tough first matchup will be against No. 3 Chico State University on May 24 in Salem, Virginia. If the Lions advance past Chico State, they will play either No. 2 Saint Anselm College or No. 7 Southern Arkansas.
