After the long weekend of non-conference action at the NCAA South Region Crossover in Orlando, Saint Leo finally returned home to face Eckerd in an inner conference battle. Last time the Lions played the Tritons they took home the win in a close game 3-2. This game was a completely different story as the Lions blanked the Tritons taking home a dominant and impressive win 3-0. The Lions pounced all over the Tritons in the first set taking a ridiculous 21-9 lead. Eckerd did not go down without a fight as they fought all the way back to make the score 24-20.

The second set was much like the first, however, the Tritons did not make a come back as the Lions crushed them in the second set 25-13. The third set was the closest of the three as both teams battled back and forth switching the lead multiple times. The set eventually tied at 22 when Saint Leo rattled off three straight points to close out the match and end the night. Sophomore star Ashley Quero had one of the best games of her career as a Lion as she put together 14 kills on just 28 attacks giving her an incredible .429 hitting percentage. She also had a defensive presence as well with two strong blocks against Eckerd. Junior Nina Vattovaz also planned well with 12 kills, eight digs and a block of her own. The fantastic freshman setter Cassandra Kamien continues to spread the ball well with an outstanding 36 assists throughout the game. She added to her assists with 11 digs to give her a double-double on the night. This brings her double-double total to 10 on the season. Senior libero Reggie Van Devender played her part in the dominating win by giving the team 16 digs and five assists. Junior Annabella Arcari led the team with her incredible defense effort gaining five blocks, not to distract from her good play on offense with seven kills. The Lions dominated holding Eckerd to a .104 hitting percentage for the game and below .100 in the first two sets. Only one attacker reached double digits for the Tritons who had 11 kills; however, her hitting percentage was poor at a very low .034.

The Lady Lions hit the road for four straight road games starting at Daytona Beach Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
