On July 25, the campus email lit up with a message from the office of the president of Saint Leo University to all Saint Leo employees. That message contained the news that Frank Mezzanini, vice president of Business Affairs and chief financial officer, had announced his retirement.
Laundry Room at Saint Leo: Issues and Suggestions
Several students are complaining about the laundry rooms in the residence halls at Saint Leo University. Both male and female students encounter the same problems. Since there are not enough washers and dryers, the laundry process becomes slower and harder. Besides this, certain students leave their belongings in the laundry room for hours; thus, cause other students to wait for them.
Not Coming Back
With a record breaking number of incoming freshmen, the halls seem to be more packed than ever here at Saint Leo University. However, the number of freshmen who are staying is slowly decreasing due to many different reasons, most of them related to finances.

On September 26 the Saint Leo University Speaker Series resumed with Nancy Tate, executive director of the League of Women Voters speaking at the Greenfelder-Denlinger boardroom in the Student Community Center.
2012 Graduate Jeff Gray Becomes Youngest GM in Professional Baseball
Jeff Gray, former Saint Leo University student and 2012 graduate, was named the general manager of the Bluefield Blue Jays on Saturday, Sep. 22, as announced by club president George McGonagle.

Meet Your Professor
Brian Camp, Ph.D. is a new assistant professor of mathematics as of this fall in the School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Camp comes to Saint Leo University from Louisiana Tech where he has spent the last seven years as a lecturer of mathematics. Before working at Louisiana Tech, he also taught at Oregon State and at his alma mater, Virginia Tech. It was at Virginia Tech that Dr. Camp earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering
On Campus Blood Donations
On September 24, 2012, blood donation buses parked outside of the Saint Leo cafeteria encouraged students to donate blood. These blue buses make a few appearances every year to bring students an opportunity to practice the core value of community.
Greek Organizations Host Rush Week
There are Greeks living on campus. However, they are not the toga gladiator kind (though some might like to think they are): they are the sorority and fraternity kind. Last week, the Greek organizations were looking for some new inductees through an event called Rush Week.
