After a long day of classes, exams and important meetings, many students look for fun things to do on and off campus, but you don’t have to look too far to find some great entertainment and fun and at a cost that won’t break your wallet. Here are some things to do both on and off campus at Saint Leo!

CAB Events – CAB stands for Campus Activities Board. They are responsible for planning both on and off campus events. Looking to make a new t-shirt, ring or other fun novelty? CAB has got you covered. They offer many free make-your-own giveaways. Look for those scattered throughout the semester. Another great fun activity is CAB Bingo. Over $1,000 in prizes are given out once a month and all you need is a small canned good donation. This isn’t your grandma’s Bingo, this is way more fun and a great time with friends for all.

But what CAB is well known for are the $5 trips. Have you ever wanted to go catch a baseball game, hockey game or go to a theme park? Ever want to try indoor sky diving or check out the mystical land of Medieval Times? CAB does that too! Look out for their annual trips to Universal Studios or Busch Gardens every semester and for their annual Halloween events, Halloween Horror Nights and Howl-O-Scream. All of this for only $5. That includes round-trip bus transportation and in some cases, a meal voucher. Not to mention the free movie trips every month held at Muvico in Tampa. Make sure to check out www.saintleotickets.com to purchase your tickets and to see what trips are coming up soon. CAB is your one stop shop for fun trips and great day events that will leave you less than bored.

Saint Leo Sporting Events- We have 17 different collegiate sports here at Saint Leo. Most of the sports have home events that students can attend for free with their Saint Leo ID. And going to one of Saint Leo’s sporting events is always a good time. The Athletics Department has the ROAR rewards program. When you come to an event, you get a ticket that gets punched and every five punches, you get a prize! Free Saint Leo gear, coupons for nearby restaurants and so much more. Not to mention, cheering on your Lions as they compete is always fun and a great way to embrace school spirit. Upcoming events include the Saint Leo Women’s Volleyball Classic, held August 31st and September 1st. Make sure to check outwww.saintleolions.com for all the teams and their respective schedules. Go Lions!

Nearby Attractions and Restaurants – We are only 30 minutes from the greater Tampa Bay area and 90 minutes from Orlando. We are also near Clearwater Beach, a sparkling beach that offers many great activities. Pack that towel and swimsuit for a fun day with friends. Not to mention, there are many restaurants, shops and attractions near our school.  One great place is Grand Prix Tampa, a fun place go-kart racing and mini-golf! Located near Busch Gardens, this place offers great deals for those who love to race and putt.

The next four years of your life at Saint Leo will be filled with many fun events and things to do. Taking advantage of the many fun events both on and off campus will help you create long lasting memories and some great friends.
