Athletes on Air – Reagan Buhrman – Women’s Lacrosse

Fans and supporters might have seen an athletic young woman representing the #1 on her jersey and giving her best on the lacrosse turf. This student-athlete is Reagan Buhrman from New Hampshire, a junior majoring in business management with minors in criminal justice and finance, who is not only an exceptional student but a talented lacrosse player.

Lions stomp out the stigma of mental health

The last time different Saint Leo athletic teams came together at the University Turf Stadium was for the traditional “Welcome Back” event in 2021 to elect the “best” Lions team. But on Monday, Feb. 6, at 8 pm, the Lions met again and had a mental-health awareness discussion, mixing various fun and competitive games at the lacrosse turf.

Eagles versus Chiefs: The battle for Super Bowl 57

The stage is set for Super Bowl 57. The run-heavy Philadelphia Eagles are squaring off against the high-flying offense of the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 12 at 6:30 pm. The Eagles had no trouble getting to the Super Bowl this postseason as they blew their competition out of the water beating the New York Giants 38-7 and the San Francisco 49ers 31-7.

Saint Leo’s Wellness Center encourages students to join group and individual wellness classes

The Wellness Center kicked off with an open house event on Tuesday, Jan. 18, where trainers informed students about the various classes available in their building. Lions who attended were not only interested in learning about the various group and individual sessions offered by the instructors, but they were also interested in learning how to stay healthy as college students.

Spring 2023 Sports Preview

The beginning of a new year is a chance for new challenges and goals paired with motivation to be better than the year before. This mindset especially applies to the student-athletes at Saint Leo University, who accomplished great things last year and want to proceed to do that with their team this Spring semester. The athletic teams strive to be at the top throughout all NCAA Division II programs.

FIFA World Cup soccer team: Brazil

The Brazilian national team, nicknamed Seleção Canarinho (“Canary Squad”, after their bright yellow jersey), is the most successful national team in the history of world soccer. The Brazilian team was formed in 1914 with teams from the cities Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
