Gone, but never forgotten. The world continues to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the world’s greatest and most influential heroes: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In honor of Martin Luther King Day, Saint Leo hosted a special celebration on Jan. 16. The day’s events included a free fair for students, staff, and members of the surrounding community and their children, followed by a special presentation from guest speaker T. Leon Williams.
The children’s fair kicked off at 11:00 a.m. on the SAB Green and featured arts and crafts, a colorful bounce house, carnival games, and an assortment of free snacks and campus memorabilia.
At 5:00 p.m., T. Leon Williams presented “The View from the Mountaintop: What Would Dr. King Say Today?” in the SCC Boardrooms. Williams reflected on the changes that Martin Luther King made to the world, as well as the progress that America has made.
The day concluded at 6:30 p.m. with a candle light vigil, hosted by the Rho XI of Alpha Phi Alpha, in memory of Dr. King and his legacy.
