There’s something special about a Sunday night on campus when everyone shows up ready to cheer, eat, and enjoy being together.

That’s exactly what happened on Feb. 8, when the Campus Activities Board (CAB) collaboratedwith the Student Government Union (SGU) and Student and Family Engagement (SFE) to transform the Super Bowl into a full-on community celebration.

First, it started as a simple watch party, which quickly became one of the most energetic and memorable events of the semester.

In the days leading up to the big game, SGU and CAB recreated the viral Bad Bunny dance from his Super Bowl commercial in honor of him being the halftime performer of 2026. It was set to his song “Baile Inolvidable.”

The commercial itself celebrates movement, culture, and everyday people dancing in their own style, and that message translated perfectly to our campus. It gives students a sense of identity, unity, and diversity, and a feeling that everyone belongs here.

This dance became a moment where students connected through community and joy. It gave everyone a chance to see themselves represented, to celebrate diversity, and to feel that sense ofbelonging, which was the purpose of the video.

When students arrived at the event, they received a raffle ticket with a random number. This ticket entered into a drawing for a brand‑new TV!

Students held onto their tickets, hoping their number would be called at the end of the event.

CAB members provided students with food and snacks, including Publix chicken and sandwiches, Pepsi products and other sodas, chips, and fruit. Students were encouraged to grab seconds, and many happily returned for more as they sat with friends to continue to watch the game.

The Super Bowl has always been a huge event and is always known for the great snacks that come with it. CAB wanted the students who attended to feel that sense of celebration through popular football treats.

Many students said the food was a highlight, especially the Publix chicken; CAB kept the tables stocked up, so there was food for everybody.

The matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots was highlighted by students cheering, reacting to big plays, and sharing predictions with their friends.

Seahawks fans especially had a great night, celebrating their team’s victory as the game came to an end.

One of the most charming parts of the evening was seeing students express their personality through their outfits. Some wore shirts representing Puerto Rico, and one student even showed up in a sweater featuring all of Bad Bunny’s album covers, a detail that caught everyone’s attention.

“The event on Sunday was a lot of fun. I went with a few friends, and we had a great time watching the game together. The food was really good, the halftime show was amazing, and you could tell everyone was enjoying themselves, said Eduardo Godines, a senior majoring in Economics.

By the end of the night, students left with full stomachs, new memories, and a stronger sense of community. The event was a true success, blending fun, culture, and campus spirit in a way that reflects the heart of Saint Leo University’s student life.
