Yee haw, Lions! Saint Leo University is always coming up with fun events for the students. This month, they chose to do Country night, and it did not disappoint. The students put on their cowboy boots and line danced the night away. This exciting event was hosted on Oct. 5 on Kirk Lawn.

Upon arrival, students were greeted with smiles from the Saint Leo CAB members and offered a choice of cowboy hats in various vibrant colors, bandanas, or western bracelets with different patterns to pick from.

The crowd embraced the theme, dressed in cowboy boots and hats, ready to have a great night. Some embraced the old country Western style, while others opted for a colorful cowgirl theme.

Throughout the event, country music was played, including a fan favorite, Morgan Wallen. Line dances added to the lively atmosphere, and many students showed off their impressive dance moves. Towards the end of the evening, students indulged in country music karaoke, provoking laughter and enthusiastic sing-alongs.

The entertainment extended beyond music, offering opportunities for students to mingle and make new friends with lawn games like cornhole and Jenga, as well as a country-themed photo backdrop for taking pictures.

The music was a fan favorite because two students said it was their favorite part of the whole night.

“My favorite part of country night was the music. I’m a big fan of country hits, so it made me feel like I was back at home,” said Hannah Lynn, a freshman majoring in political science.

Lily Glasgow, a freshman majoring in nursing said, “I love country music and I was so happy to hear all the amazing songs.”

Country Night was a hit with many students, and it really ignited the Saint Leo school spirit in all of them!
