The Bowl behind the Dining Hall was set up like a football field, with a football goal post and the grass looked like a football field. Students and faculty were ready for some football Feb. 4, 2014. The Dining Hall hosted a Super Bowl Bash.

There were games, prizes and obstacles that were football related. The games were set up by little tints as if it was a tailgate party and different foods that are commonly eaten while watching the game. There were even a popcorn stand and a snow cone machine for everyone to enjoy. The big tent was placed in the back of the Bowl where people could eat and view their friends who were participating in the games.

“It was a good event that brought people together to celebrate the super bowl” said Chelsea Williams, Senior.

The games all related to football. There were games such as quarter back accurate throw, receiver pass, football punt, and a running obstacle course.

Tony Pellegrino, Junior played quarterback accurate throws. He had to throw the footballs into the holes of the football dummies in a certain amount of time.

“This game is fun, but it is hard to throw the balls through the dummies because the time was going by so fast,” he said.

The receiver game was set up with a tire and a rope tied high on a pole. The object of the game was to stand behind a line and throw as many footballs as possible into the tire. The tire was high enough to make it a bit tricky.

Britney Polycarpe, Sophomore, said, “I was having a hard time with this game because I cannot throw.” She only made the football through the tire once.

The obstacle course consisted of running through cones and flipping over a tire under a certain amount of time.

“The tire lift was so hard,” said Jenny Guerrero, Junior, after she tried flipping the tire without success.

There were a few people that tried to beat the record time of ten seconds and only one person beat the time, Brianna Broughton, Sophomore.

“Beating the time was a challenge, but I kept trying and trying until I beat it,” she said. She was consistent and determined to win.

The sun was out and it was a nice day for the students and faculty to enjoy each other’s company. There was fun competition amongst the people playing the games and other enjoying the scenery.

“It was a great community experience,” said Nesha Witherspoon, Junior.
